Our original remit is still at the heart of what we do: ensuring experienced individuals with sought after skills and knowledge in engineering, manufacturing and technology can continue to contribute to UK industry.
We’ve worked with the oil & gas industry, for example, to develop a redeployment support portal. This free and confidential portal puts skilled people from the oil & gas sector - both former workers and those at risk of redundancy - in touch with interested companies.
We’re working too with the rail and nuclear sectors. NSAR-Connect, developed with TRS support, is an online platform that enables rail companies with graduate and apprenticeship schemes to share their surplus candidates with other organisations of all sizes across the rail industry. It’s reduced recruitment costs and it means the sector is keeping hold of capable, quality individuals.
Nuclear Gateway, an online placement service that connects employers with candidates looking for apprenticeship or graduate opportunities, is based on the rail industry model. It’s bringing together large organisations, SMEs and supply chain companies in the wider interests of the nuclear industry. Our next focus is on attracting new groups of people into the sector and supporting redeployment opportunities.
